Congratulations Your New Expinfo Account is Approved.

I received a confirmation message this morning though email from a company called Expinfo.

Dear MICHAEL D,
You have successfully registered with Expinfo Inc. Following are your Login details.

I’ve never done business with, contacted, or knew these scoundrels existed but apparently, my alter impersonated expinfo-ego created an account and emailed me the credentials. This POS company apparently has access to my Monster.com resume and populated an Expinfo.com member profile with that information.

I’d be interested in hearing from other folk out there who have received the same auto-generated message. Can you say class action identity theft and privacy violation law suit? Expinfo makes me feel dirty.

Who do you people think you are? Auto-generate an account in my name using a harvested resume from Monster.com is a violation of my privacy. Cease and desist this objectionable practice immediately. Delete this account and all database traces of it immediately. This violation of my privacy would be worth a class action in my opinion assuming there are other people out there who have had the same action occur to them. I’m not special and I suspect there are many folks out there Expinfo has violated as well.

Why am I not surprised! I’m not a lawyer, but I play one in law school, but I’d like to have some fun pushing back if there is an attorney out there who is looking for a little contingency based class action; think identity theft and invasion of privacy.
