Laws of Power – 48

Assume Formlessness: By taking a shape, by having a visible plan, you open yourself up to attack. Instead of taking a form for your enemy to grasp, keep yourself adaptable and on the move. Accept the fact that nothing is certain and no law is fixed. The best way to protect yourself is to be a fluid and formless as water; never bet on stability or lasting order. Everything changes.

Several quotes come to mind instantly I think. Like “Nothing lasts forever”, “What is old is new”, and “The more things change, the more they stay the same.” I think the point is in order to remain vibrant and relevant, we must remain agile. Complacency comes way too easy to humanity; we seem to only respond expeditiously, unfortunately to duress. Why is logic not the driver? I refuse to wait for death, wasting away in a decrepit shell. No, I think death must catch me and only because I burned out like a flaming comet across the finish line completely spending the fire within.
