Now Reading: Irrefutable Laws of Leadership – 15

The Law of Victory: victorious leaders possess an unwillingness to accept defeat. The alternative to winning is totally unacceptable to them. When the pressure is on, great leaders are at their best. Whatever is inside them comes to the surface. The team doesn’t win a championship its players are working from different agendas. Leaders who practice the law victory have no plan B. That is why they keep fighting.

I believe that my personal mantra sums up the essence of this perfectly; “I will bludgeon my way to victory.” It is incredibly scary to witness what on this to people in general who suddenly become faced with larger than normal challenges. If you were to examine these situations, many of which are captured in the media, you will see anarchy and lawlessness emerge within days of a catastrophe occurring. I have seen people’s behavior devolve during Black Friday and the last remaining “must have” item sits between possessed shoppers. The one element that maintains order, provides security, and reduces anarchy, comes in the form of strong leadership. And I’m not referring to anyone’s invisible friend either; I am referring to tangible flesh and blood leadership.

“What is your aim? I can answer in one word: victory — victory at all costs, victory in spite of all terror, victory, however long and hard the road may be; for without victory, there is no survival.” – Winston Churchill

“You’ve got to have great athletes to win, I don’t care who the coaches. You can’t win without good athletes, which can lose without them. This is where coaching makes the difference.” – Lou Holtz

“I will bludgeon my way to victory.” – Michael Peters
